Bonjour, Provence! We’re Besties Now
In my previous blog, I gushed (okay, fangirled a lot) about Emily in Paris—the swoon-worthy fashion, the juicy drama, and, of course, the City of Lights stealing the show. But let’s not forget that cheeky little cameo by Provence! One moment, I’m sipping my imaginary café latte with Emily in Paris, and the next, I’m mentally packing my bags for the lavender-kissed hills of Provence. 🧳💜
So here we are—blog deux! Today, let’s wander (virtually) through Provence, a place that feels like it’s been plucked straight out of a dreamy Pinterest board.
Provence is like Paris’s cool countryside cousin—it’s charming, colourful, and effortlessly beautiful. Nestled in the southeast of France, it’s famous for endless lavender fields stretching into eternity, sunkissed vineyards, and charming cobblestone streets where time slows down. The villages here look like they were made for Instagram! Umm… it’s basically a little slice of heaven. 📸
Provence has inspired artists like Van Gogh (hello, sunflowers! 🌻) and writers who’ve found magic in its rolling hills and bright blue skies. So, Provence is a whole mood!
Here’s a fun nugget for you: Did you know Provence was once part of the Roman Empire? Yep, this region is like a living museum. Don’t miss the ancient amphitheatre in Arles or the stunning aqueduct at Pont du Gard! 🏛️📜
Rosé, Sunsets, and Fairy-Tale Villages

Every summer, Valensole turns into this purple paradise you have to see to believe. 🌿 Peak bloom? June to July—mark your calendar and prepare for some next-level photo ops!
Aix-en-Provence 🎨
This town is like an artist’s dream come true—charming streets, fountains everywhere (seriously, it’s called the “City of Fountains”), and all the artsy vibes. Don’t miss Cézanne’s studio, where the legend himself worked his magic. 🎨 Channel your inner artist and soak up the inspiration—it’s basically an open-air gallery.
Les Baux-de-Provence 🏰
Welcome to your mediaeval fairy tale! 🌟 This adorable hilltop village is perched on a rocky cliff, and the views? Absolutely jaw-dropping—total royalty vibes! 👑 Okay. Now I so want to wander cobblestone streets, soaking in ancient charm, and finding picture-perfect spots at every corner. It’s like stepping back in time… with way better lighting for photos!
Calanques National Park 🌊
Rugged cliffs dropping into sparkling turquoise waters—it’s Mother Nature’s masterpiece! 🏞️ Your Instagram caption? “Vitamin Sea, but make it French.” 💙
Charming Villages 🏡
Provence is packed with postcard-perfect villages like Gordes and Roussillon. Stroll through cobblestone streets, marvel at colorful houses, and soak in those epic views. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in a painting. 🎨
Vineyards 🍷
Provence is also the OG home of rosé! 🍇✨ Sip, swirl, and live your best life with a glass of that pink magic. Bonus points if you’re in a flowy dress and pretending you’re the star of your fiction. 😉
Provence vibes are filled with joie de vivre!

Travel Tips
Best Time to Visit:
Timing Is Everything: Visit Provence in late spring (May-June) or early fall (September-October) when the weather is mild and crowds are smaller.
Getting Around: Rent a car! One of the best ways to experience Provence is by wandering through its markets and backroads. You’ll stumble upon hidden gems that guidebooks often overlook.
Stay Local, Stay Chic: Skip the big hotels and book a charming mas (a Provençal farmhouse) or a boutique B&B. Airbnb has some gems!
Foodie Heaven: Don’t leave without trying ratatouille, tapenade, bouillabaisse, and, of course, local wines. “Forget the Wi-Fi, enjoy the wine.” 🙂
Did I forget fresh baguettes slathered with lavender honey? Yes, lavender in your food is a thing here.
Pack a Scarf: Because you can’t say bonjour in Provence without a dash of French flair!
Wow. Writing this blog feels like a warm hug from the French countryside—one I hope to experience in person someday.
For now, I’m raising a glass of rosé (Provençal, of course) to dream-filled travels and fiction-inspired adventures. À bientôt, Provence! 🥂
